2025 was a year of steady growth and deeper community connection. Recovery in Community strengthened cross-island partnerships, expanded our network, and continued offering person-centered peer support across the recovery spectrum.

The Recovery in Community pilot project is working in the Orcas Island community! The first half of the project can be summed up briefly: So far, so good, and SO challenging!

Recovery in Community has seen 14 clients since its launch in August 2019, which is nearly double what organizers projected.

Recovery in Community is now active and working to improve the lives of underserved Orcas Islanders facing mental health or substance abuse challenges.

The RIC Oversight Committee is in full gear in June, working hard to get RIC up, running, and serving Orcas clients!

This study is conducted every three years and is used by Opportunity Council in strategic planning so that their agency’s priorities are aligned with the people they aim to serve.
